Sweitzer Lake State Park, just south of Delta, Colorado, was established in 1960 as a recreation destination and developed in part through a land donation from Morgan Sweitzer, for whom it is named. The park encompasses 210 acres, centered on a 137-acre reservoir that defines the site. Alongside day-use features including a boat ramp, swim beach, and picnic sites, it is also valued for wildlife watching. Birders have recorded 170 species there, giving the park significance both as a recreational area and as a place of notable bird diversity.
