In this building in 1801, Paul Revere, famed "Midnight Rider," patriot, and silversmith, founded an industry as well as a business. Here he rolled copper successfully for the first time in America, thus beginning one of the most vital industries in this country. The business he established here under the Revere family name grew into the nation's largest and oldest independent copper fabricator, Revere Copper and Brass Incorporated.
