Fairbanks House is the oldest house in Dedham, with part of it built about 1636. It was the homestead of Jonathan Fairbanks, who, with his sons John, George, and Jonathan, Junior, signed the Dedham Covenant on September 10, 1636. It was also the ancestral home of the late Vice-President Fairbanks.
