Millsite State Park
Nature
Millsite State Park lies at the south end of Millsite Reservoir at the mouth of Ferron Canyon near Ferron in western Emery County, combining a small water recreation area with access to surrounding desert and mountain terrain. The reservoir, part of the Ferron Watershed Project, was completed in 1970 through the work of several agencies as a multipurpose water-containment effort. The park’s name recalls an earlier dam on the site that served a flour mill before the modern dam was built. Today the area supports swimming, boating, waterskiing, fishing, off-highway vehicle riding, mountain biking, and a nearby 18-hole public golf course, while sandstone walls northwest of the park preserve Native American rock art and later pioneer graffiti.
