Meeker Peak
Nature
Meeker Peak is an 8,768-foot summit in eastern Nevada’s Worthington Mountains, within Basin and Range National Monument and the Worthington Mountains Wilderness on Bureau of Land Management land. About 105 miles north of Las Vegas, it is the range’s third-highest summit and stands out for its dramatic relief rather than absolute elevation. The mountain rises about 2,500 feet above Garden Valley in one mile and about 3,900 feet above Sand Springs Valley in three miles, creating a steep, prominent profile over the surrounding basins. In the remote Great Basin Desert, it is part of a protected landscape that preserves the stark topography and isolation of Basin and Range country.
