Quinn Canyon Wilderness is a remote protected area in central Nevada’s Quinn Canyon Range, administered by the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest and established by Congress in 1989. Spanning 26,256 acres, it extends across a long high crest with elevations from 6,719 to 10,189 feet, steep V-shaped drainages, four year-round streams, and several springs. Its plant life shifts with elevation from pinyon pine, juniper, and sagebrush to white fir, aspen, mahogany, and small stands of bristlecone pine. The wilderness provides important habitat for mule deer and bighorn sheep, and its proximity to Grant Range Wilderness strengthens a broad, largely undeveloped mountain landscape.
