The Louisville and Nashville (L&N) Turnpike Corridor Segment
Transportation
4
The Louisville and Nashville (L&N) Turnpike corridor segment encompasses the area from the railroad trestle south to the junction of Wilson and Baker roads and from Bluff Edge to Bluff Edge, entirely on the Fort Knox Military Reservation. Between 1837 and 1859, it was significant in regional settlement and economic development as a major transportation route, and it also played a role in Civil War troop and supply movements. Only part of the Fort Knox segment is open to the public.
