U.S. Fort Duffield originally had a 1,000-foot-long earthen wall that stood approximately 17 feet from the bottom of the ditch to the top of the wall, and the top of the wall was approximately 9 feet wide. Over time, erosion reduced the walls to their present height and thickness.
