The original Novi Township Hall, built in 1876, was struck by lightning and destroyed on July 14, 1913. In 1915, a second building identical to the first was built on the same site on the west side of Novi Road south of Grand River, and it served as the township hall until 1968. In 1986, restoration of the hall began through the cooperative efforts of the Novi Historical Society, Novi Historical Commission, Novi Library Board, and the generous support of many individuals and organizations. Restoration was completed in October 1990.
