In an exclusive part of town, the LaBar House was the first brick house built in Fife Lake. It was the home of Jerusha (Carothers) and Hiram LaBar and their eleven children. Hiram was the village pharmacist and later a banker. A photograph of the house features one of their sons, Kenneth, and his horse, “Babe.”
