For 30 years, this flagpole stood on the east wing of the State House in Boston. The Society of the Sons of the Revolution in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts presented it to the Town of Plymouth and dedicated it to the memory of Capt. John Coolidge, a soldier of the Revolution and great great grandfather of Calvin Coolidge, President of the United States, on August 3, 1924. This plaque was replaced in 1976 by The Calvin Coolidge Memorial Foundation.
