Sphere is a major music and entertainment venue in Paradise, Nevada, developed as an immersive-media arena rather than a conventional performance space. Announced in 2018 and opened on September 29, 2023, it features a vast wraparound 16K interior LED screen, advanced spatial audio, 4D effects, and a huge exterior skin of programmable LED displays that made it a new Las Vegas landmark. Built on an 18-acre site through a partnership involving Madison Square Garden Company and Las Vegas Sands, the project faced pandemic, supply-chain, and inflation delays as costs climbed to $2.3 billion. It debuted with U2 and soon expanded to films and major concert residencies.
