Greys Peak, the northernmost summit of Nevada’s East Humboldt Range, rises more than 5,000 feet above the Humboldt Valley and stands out as one of the area’s most prominent mountains. About 10 miles southwest of Wells, it divides contrasting landscapes, with Dennis Flats, Starr Valley, and Greys Lake to the west and Chimney Rock, Clover Valley, and Angel Lake to the east. Its summit leads into a high crest that continues nearly 10 miles south along the range. The peak was named for Enoch Grey, an early homesteader in Starr Valley, and is commonly climbed from Angel Lake Campground by a primitive class 2 route.
