Felton Covered Bridge spans the San Lorenzo River in Felton, California, and was built in 1892 using a Brown truss system. About 80 feet long, it served for 45 years as the main entry into town and is recognized as the tallest covered bridge in the United States. After suffering storm damage in the winter of 1982, it received major restoration in 1987. Its significance was formally recognized when it became a California Historical Landmark in 1957 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Preserved in Felton Covered Bridge Park, it is now open to pedestrians.
