Built in 1939 by the Works Projects Administration, this outhouse was purchased by John Brown and used on his farm after the WPA was disbanded. It was typical of the kind of “Necessary House” found behind every house in Alpine from the beginning until the 1950s. It was donated by Janice Brown.
