Soldier Mountain is a peak in the Cascade Range of northwestern Shasta County, California, rising to 1,696 meters (5,531 feet). About 4.2 kilometers south of Dana in a rural part of far northern California, it is especially known for the old fire lookout tower on its summit. That structure reflects the region’s history of wildfire observation and forest monitoring, and it remains one of the mountain’s most prominent visible features. The summit can be reached by dirt road, helping preserve the lookout’s presence as a notable part of the landscape.
