Holmes Creek Covered Bridge, also known as the Lakeshore Covered Bridge, is a one-lane wooden bridge in Charlotte, Vermont, beside Charlotte Beach on Lake Road. Spanning Holmes Creek near Lake Champlain, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is notable for its rare King post truss with tied arch design, one of only three still standing in Vermont, as well as for being one of the state’s shortest covered bridges. Built to accommodate agricultural traffic, it stood in a busy rural setting near a major Holmes family apple orchard and a lakeside pier used to ship fruit. Despite structural concerns, it has remained in daily use through rehabilitation and repairs.
