The Arboretum at Arizona State University is a campus-wide botanical collection in Tempe, Arizona, integrated into walkways and open spaces rather than enclosed in a single garden. Formally dedicated in 1990, it has expanded to more than 300 species drawn from the Sonoran Desert and other regions. It is known for a particularly strong collection of date palms and conifers in the desert Southwest, along with an increasing number of native southwestern plants. Deciduous trees, evergreens, and fruit trees are also part of the plantings, making the university campus itself a publicly accessible living exhibition.
