Approximately one-half mile east of this point lay the Bullskin Trace, an Indian trail that led from the Ohio River to Detroit, Michigan. It was used by Daniel Boone, Simon Kenton, and Tecumseh. On February 4, 1807, it was designated a public highway and named the Xenia State Road. During the War of 1812, it carried supplies and troops from the Ohio River to the Great Lakes area, and it was also part of the Underground Railroad system.
