A primitive Baptist church once stood here. Rev. Able Morgan, a patriot of the Revolution, preached in a log cabin at Cheesequake in the 1740s. The cemetery contains the graves of pioneer families, patriots, and soldiers of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
