Garden in the Woods is a 45-acre woodland botanical garden in Framingham, Massachusetts, and the headquarters of Native Plant Trust. Founded in 1931 after Will C. Curtis bought 30 acres in North Framingham, it passed to the New England Wild Flower Society after his death in 1965. Set in a mature oak forest on glacial terrain, the garden uses rolling hills, ponds, and streams to support varied microhabitats. It is known as the largest landscaped collection of wildflowers in New England, with more than 1,700 kinds of plants representing about 1,000 species, including more than 200 rare and endangered native species, and it also contains the region’s largest retail native plant nursery.
