This ancient redwood is 950 to 1000 years old. Its original height was 298 feet and its current height is 248 feet. It survived lightning that removed its top, a logger's axe, a forest fire in 1908, and the flood of 1964. Its trunk diameter is 14.5 feet, its top diameter is 3 feet, and its total volume is 104,380 board feet, enough to build several homes.
