Bellbank Bridge was a covered span over Octoraro Creek on the boundary of Lancaster and Chester counties in southeastern Pennsylvania, carrying Street Road across the water. Built in 1850 by bridge builder Robert Russell on land associated with Revolutionary War officer Colonel James Patterson Bell, it was also known as Bridge number eleven. Its history was unusually turbulent: lightning destroyed it in June 1860, and Russell rebuilt it under contract. Though rehabilitation spared it from demolition in the 1960s, it burned again on March 19, 1979, in a fire ruled arson. An open steel-beam bridge replaced it, though efforts to recreate the historic crossing continued.
