Born in Austria, Ben Glaser came to Ligonier in 1917 as a Jewish peddler selling a variety of used items, including car parts. He later opened an auto dealership handling Chevrolet, Pontiac, and Oldsmobile, and remained in business until 1955, when his son Joseph took over.
