Bald Mountain is a bare rock summit in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula near Lake Superior, part of the Huron Mountain range and lying on the border of Marquette and Baraga counties, with most of its summit in Marquette County. Considered an outlier of the range, it sits farther west than most of the other rocky summits. Unlike the better-known named peaks on the range’s eastern side, Bald Mountain is privately owned and managed under the CFA program. The surrounding area was also being actively logged in 2017.
