Spread Eagle Peak is a 13,423-foot mountain in southern Colorado's Sangre de Cristo Range, within the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness of San Isabel National Forest near Westcliffe. The fifteenth-highest summit in Custer County, it is notable for its steep relief, rising sharply above Lake of the Clouds and North Taylor Creek. Water from its slopes drains into tributaries of Grape Creek within the Arkansas River watershed. The peak lies in an alpine subarctic climate, bringing cold, snowy winters, cool to warm summers, year-round precipitation, summer thunderstorms, and a drier late spring. Its name has been officially recognized by the United States Board on Geographic Names.
