The Romeo and Juliet Windmill is a small wooden windmill on the Taliesin estate near Spring Green, Wisconsin, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for his aunts Jane and Ellen Lloyd Jones and completed in 1897 to pump water for the Hillside Home School. Its memorable design pairs a diamond-shaped shaft, which Wright called Romeo, with a larger octagonal tower, called Juliet, making a practical structure into an early expression of his geometric ideas. Later re-clad and fully restored in 1992, it no longer pumps water but remains a distinctive part of the Taliesin landscape and was named a National Historic Landmark in 1976.
