Hillside Home School I, or the Hillside Home Building, was a Shingle Style structure in Wyoming, Wisconsin, designed in 1887 by nineteen-year-old Frank Lloyd Wright for his aunts Ellen and Jane Lloyd Jones. Built as a dormitory and library for their coeducational day and boarding school, it became the center of campus life and was Wright’s first design made specifically for the school. The building reflected influences from his employer, Joseph Lyman Silsbee, and remained in use until the school closed in 1915. Later absorbed into the Taliesin estate, it was demolished on Wright’s orders in 1950.
