Roche Miette is a 2,316-metre mountain at the northwestern tip of the Miette Range in Jasper National Park, Alberta, and a prominent landmark in the Athabasca Valley. Its French name means Crumb Rock. Local tradition and James Hector connected its first ascent to Bonhomme Miette, a French Canadian voyageur and fiddler, whose memory also survives in nearby names such as the Fiddle River and Fiddle Range. Long admired for its dramatic position projecting into the valley, it was praised in 1907 by Arthur P. Coleman as the Athabasca's most striking feature. Formed of ancient sedimentary rock, it was officially named in 1956.
