Men and women of Eagleville, Tennessee, served and supported the Confederacy during the War Between the States from 1861 to 1865. The dedication also quotes Colonel Bennett H. Young, who called the Confederacy's dead a treasure, the blood poured out to defend the South an inheritance, and the memories of thousands of battlefields and countless instances of courage and manhood part of the Southland.
