Springs Preserve is a 180-acre park and educational complex in Las Vegas built around the Las Vegas Springs, the original water source that gave the city its name. Owned by the Las Vegas Valley Water District, it preserves the spring landscape while connecting the valley’s environmental history to modern desert living. Opened in 2007 after years of restoration and preparation, it includes museums, gardens, trails, wetlands, and event spaces. The site emphasizes conservation and sustainable design through the Desert Living Center, visible water and energy infrastructure, and exhibits that explore the area’s natural history, the growth of Las Vegas, and life in a desert city with limited resources.
