McCauley Mountain, near Old Forge in the Town of Webb, is a summit and ski resort in the southwestern Adirondacks that opened in 1958. Long used for local downhill skiing, it rises 2,280 feet above sea level and has a ski area with a 633-foot vertical drop. Its 21 trails extend roughly 3,000 to 5,000 feet and are served by two T-bar tows, two rope tows, and a double chairlift. Also known as the hometown hill of Olympic skier Hank Kashiwa, it connects a small regional resort to a broader skiing history and remains an important part of the area's winter sports landscape.
