Yugoslavian Orchardists of Sunnyvale
History
3
Throughout Sunnyvale's history, orchard farmers came from many cultures, and one of the most prominent groups was the Yugoslavs. More than sixty Yugoslav families were associated with these orchards. Their orchards ranged from two to seventy acres in size, and most families bought small orchards and added to their holdings as land and money became available. Most of the orchards grew apricots, followed by cherries and prunes, with a few also including pears and walnuts.
