Architect Walter Robb Wilder designed this one-room schoolhouse in 1915 for Ramapo District Eleven, where he owned a farmstead. Neighborhood children attended the school for 16 years, and it later became the West Pomona Community Center. Symmetrical in form and constructed of Rockland's abundant glacial fieldstones, the building has a sense of monumentality while expressing its own place and time.
