Conimicut Light is a historic sparkplug-style lighthouse in Warwick, Rhode Island, marking the mouth of the Providence River as it opens into Narragansett Bay. Built in 1883 with pneumatic caisson engineering, it replaced an earlier 1868 light and reflected the importance of this approach to the bay and river. Automated in the 1960s, it was among the last acetylene gas-powered lights converted to electricity. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. After the City of Warwick acquired it in 2004, restoration plans faltered, and officials considered other uses, including possible conversion into a bed-and-breakfast inn.
