White Canyon Wilderness
Nature
White Canyon Wilderness is a protected area in Arizona in the southeastern Mineral Mountains, created in 1990 under the Arizona Desert Wilderness Act and managed by the Bureau of Land Management. White Canyon runs north to south through its center and gives the wilderness its defining form, while the Rincon, a large escarpment at the southern end, stands as a prominent landmark. The landscape blends chaparral with Sonoran Desert vegetation, including saguaro cactus, and provides habitat for wildlife such as black bears and mountain lions.
