Elk City Bridge was a covered bridge over the Yaquina River at Elk City, Oregon, built by the county in 1922 for $3,200 as a 100-foot Howe truss span carrying the road across the river. It had a vertical clearance of 10.5 feet and a 15-ton load limit. Rot in its wooden pilings led the county to plan its removal by 1980, but local fundraising supported attempted repairs. Before restoration could be completed, high winds caused major additional damage. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 as one of Oregon’s historic covered bridges, it was destroyed in a storm on November 13, 1981, and later removed from the register.
