Bethany Hills Camp is a 370-acre camp and conference property near Kingston Springs on the Cheatham-Dickson county line in Middle Tennessee. It began around 1900 as Camp Thomas, founded by Nashville social worker Fannie Battle as a vacation and convalescence retreat for impoverished mothers and children, later also serving children vulnerable to or infected with tuberculosis through the benefits of fresh country air. Supported early by Major John W. Thomas, it grew into a year-round operation with housing and care facilities. In the 1950s, the Disciples of Christ acquired the property, renamed it Bethany Hills, and it continues to serve the region as a youth camp and conference center.
