Agate Falls Scenic Site in Michigan’s western Upper Peninsula is a state park centered on Agate Falls in Interior Township, southeast of Bruce Crossing along M-28. There, the Middle Branch of the Ontonagon River drops 39 feet over a shelf of erosion-resistant sandstone as it descends from the highlands toward Lake Superior. The falls are part of a much greater river drop of 875 feet between the Bond Falls Flowage and Lake Superior. Visitors can reach views from a trail off M-28 or from a former Duluth, South Shore and Atlantic Railway bridge, now used for snowmobiles and ATVs, with a picnic area adding easy recreational access.
