Bond Falls is a well-known waterfall on the middle branch of Michigan’s Ontonagon River in the western Upper Peninsula, near Paulding and U.S. Highway 45. Recognized by the state as the Bond Falls Scenic Site, it drops about 50 feet and forms the first stage of a much larger 875-foot descent from Bond Falls Flowage to Lake Superior. Though valued as a natural scenic landmark, the falls have been modified by a nearby dam built by the Upper Peninsula Power Company. The site includes picnic and rest areas, trails, a walkway across the river below the base, and separately stocked brook trout waters in both the river and the flowage.
