O Kun de Kun Falls is a two-part waterfall on the Baltimore River in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, north of Bruce Crossing within the Ottawa National Forest. Named for the Chippewa chief O Kun de Kun, who lived from about 1760 to 1859 and came from the Ontonagon area, it consists of an upper drop of about 10 feet, sometimes called Peanut Butter Falls, and a lower, better-known drop of about 20 feet. The falls’ width changes seasonally from about 10 to 30 feet. The North Country Trail follows the river past both drops, and a suspension bridge below the lower falls helps make the site a scenic forest destination.
