Bowman Mill Covered Bridge
Science & Tech
Bowman Mill Covered Bridge is a historic covered road bridge in Pike Township, Perry County, Ohio, built in 1880 as a multiple kingpost truss and associated with builder Lank Bowman. Also known as the Rush Creek Covered Bridge and the Readington Covered Bridge, it originally stood south of New Reading on Winegardner Road. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 as one of Perry County’s surviving nineteenth-century covered bridges. In 1987, it was moved to the Perry County Fairgrounds near New Lexington, where it remains preserved for its traditional timber-truss construction and its importance in local history.
