The gymnasium was completed in 1867 by the Ursulines of Brown County and was originally attached to the library building to the north, which was razed in 1985. Its first floor was used as a play hall and its second floor as a music hall lined on either side with practice rooms that were later converted to offices and classrooms. It serves the college today for special activities, dance classes, gatherings, and the annual Car, Craft and Quilt Show. A southern addition built in the 1950s as a studio for art classes, including painting and pottery making, also remains in use today.
