Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village, Wyoming, opened in the winter of 1965–66 and grew into one of North America’s best-known ski areas. Founded by Paul McCollister with Alex Morley and Gordon Graham on the former Crystal Springs Girl Scout Ranch, it first centered on Apres Vous Mountain and soon added an aerial tram to Rendezvous Mountain. The resort became known for its exceptional vertical relief, steep expert terrain, and famed Corbet’s Couloir, while also hosting major competitions including World Cup races. Despite notable avalanche incidents, it remains a major four-season destination known for combining luxury travel with some of the most challenging lift-served skiing in the United States.
