An early grist mill was constructed here in 1842 by Robert Brown and was later operated in succession by Eli Herr, Abraham Gantz, Daniel Blocher, Alexander Burns, and Oscar King. It was destroyed by fire in 1888. The residence of Daniel C. Fisher M.D. was constructed on this site in 1939.
