Peru Peak Wilderness is a protected backcountry area in Vermont's Green Mountain National Forest, one of eight wilderness areas there, with 7,825 acres managed by the U.S. Forest Service. Established by the Vermont Wilderness Act of 1984 and expanded in 2006, it is crossed on its southern and central heights by the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail, which pass over Styles Peak and Peru Peak. Its character lies in the contrast between that well-known ridge route and a more secluded interior. The northern half is especially remote, with no marked trails, and Pete Parent Peak has no marked route to its summit.
