Guanella Pass Scenic Byway is a Colorado Scenic and Historic Byway and National Forest Scenic Byway in central Colorado that crosses Guanella Pass at 11,670 feet in the Arapaho and Pike national forests. Running through alpine country above timberline, it opens broad views of Front Range fourteeners including Grays Peak, Torreys Peak, Mount Blue Sky, and Mount Bierstadt. The route is also bound to Colorado’s mining-era past, passing through the Georgetown–Silver Plume Historic District and providing access to the Georgetown Loop Historic Mining and Railroad Park and the Georgetown Loop Railroad. It is especially celebrated for autumn aspens, when slopes below the pass turn gold from September 10 through October 10.
