Camano Island State Park is a public recreation area on Camano Island in Puget Sound, southwest of Stanwood, Washington. Covering 173 acres with 6,700 feet of shoreline, it began when land was set aside for park purposes in 1947, and its initial development was completed on July 27, 1949, by 500 local volunteers. The park combines wooded uplands, beaches, and nearshore waters that support varied wildlife, including deer, elk, coyotes, otters, whales, bald eagles, osprey, herons, and owls, along with native trees and plants. It serves both shoreline and upland recreation with swimming, fishing, camping, trails, and boat access.
