Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens in Greenbank on Whidbey Island, Washington, is a woodland public garden created by Ann and Max Meerkerk in the early 1960s and later preserved through a bequest to the Seattle Rhododendron Society after Ann Meerkerk's death in 1979. Operated as an independent not-for-profit and open year-round except during inclement weather, the 53-acre property includes more than 10 acres of display gardens filled with hundreds of rhododendrons and 43 acres of woodland with over 2 miles of hiking trails. It is valued both for its cultivated floral displays and its peaceful natural setting.
