One of the best distant views of the Wetumpka Impact Crater is from the Wetumpka Sports Complex, where the highest remains of the crater’s northwestern rim can be seen. In the center, several communication towers stand on Bald Knob, which has an elevation of 587 feet above sea level. Scientists estimate that the original rim was about twice that height. The Wetumpka Impact Crater is 85 million years old.
